Do This

Like you need someone else to tell you what to do, right??

You already saw how we hung the photo Christmas cards that we get every year... but not everyone sends out photo cards... some people send out just pretty Holiday cards... the store bought kind.

You get some too I'm sure... if not in the mail, maybe on presents.

This year, after the Holiday was over, instead of tossing them...

I pulled off the pretty fronts, packaged them up and sent them off to St. Jude's Ranch for Children.

The Ranch's Recycled Card Program takes the fronts of donated cards (all kinds, not just holiday cards) and children create new "green" cards.

The cards are then sold in packages for $10, and the money goes to support programs at the ranch.

The Ranch is not affiliated with St. Jude's Children's Hospital... instead, their mission focuses on healing and caring for abused and neglected children.

The card program helps kids get creative, and learn about recycling.

They even get paid for the "work".

Sounds like a pretty awesome program to me... this is my first year donating, but I plan to do it every year, and even on our birthdays.

What are you waiting for?? You should do it too.

Send those cards here, today....

It takes just as much energy to toss them as it does to donate them... ya know??

Do it, do it.

  1. Wow, a great way to recycle the cards. Never really thought of it and I always toss those cards every year but now this really seems like a good idea to utilize those cards for creating something better. Thanks for sharing!

  2. That's a fantastic idea and something I had never heard of before. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. I'm sure more people will be taking part in this recycling program now that they know about it.
